Urban ties for fourth as Men’s Golf battles heavy wind and rain to post strong showing at Surf Club Invitational

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Radford men's golf program battled through heavy wind, rain and delays, but the Highlanders persevered through the elements and posted a strong eighth place showing at the 2025 Surf Club Invitational at the Surf Golf & Beach Club on Monday and Tuesday.

The highlight of the tournament went to Jack Urban, who finished tied for fourth overall as an individual out of 108 competing student-athletes.

Due to inclement weather throughout the region, the tournament was forced to cut from three rounds of competition to just two.

THE BASICS

COURSE INFO: Par 71 course played over 6,996 yards
TOURNAMENT INFO: 17 teams and 108 student-athletes

NOTABLES
- Urban led the way for the Highlanders as one of just nine student-athletes that finished under par. He posted a round of 68 on Monday and followed it up with a 72 on Tuesday. He also recorded the second-best score by a Big South student-athlete in the tournament. Urban tied for fourth overall with five birdies.
- Channing Blevins was right behind in a tie for 21st with a +3 performance. He was incredibly consistent with a 73 on day one and an improvement to 72 to close out the tourney. Blevins wrapped up the competition tied for 15th with four birdies.
- Tate Corbett finished in a tie for 34th at +5. He too was consistent with rounds of 74 and 73, respectively. He posted three birdies and nine holes of par overall.
- Louie Stott (tied for 70th, +10) and Benson Blevins (tied for 90th, +15) rounded out the scoring for the Highlanders.
