PLAY BY PLAY
The 49ers would strike first in the opening inning of Tuesday's midweek tilt, doing so on the basepaths after two early hits. Starting pitcher Morgan Cooper would get two outs with runners on the corners before the 49ers executed a double steal, with Radford conceding the run at the plate and catching the runner on first to end the inning.

Cassi Barbato would collect Radford's first hit of the day, but the Highlanders came up empty. Cooper would settle in for an easy second inning working around an error to keep the game at 1-0. Cooper kept rolling into the third allowing a hit but once again keeping the 49ers off the scoreboard.

Radford would get its first scoring opportunity in the bottom of the third thanks to walks from Emily Smith and Barbato, but with two outs the rally fizzled out. Redmon would enter in relief in the fourth and pick up two strikeouts towards keeping it a one-run game.

In the bottom of the fourth, the Highlanders strung together some hits and struck big thanks to a 49ers miscue. Kelley Feigen would single followed quickly by a double from Harrison. After E. Smith drew a hit by pitch, Grace Bechtol put the ball in play and a fielding error allowed all three runners to score and put Radford ahead 3-1.

Redmon responded with a 1-2-3 top of the fifth as Radford's offense would add to their lead. Rachel Smith would begin the inning with an infield single, coming home thanks to Harrison's RBI single with two outs for the 4-1 advantage.

Radford would strike for two more insurance runs in the sixth. Bechtol collected a hit and a hit by pitch by Amanda Lee put two runners on. A wild pitch allowed Bechtol to come home and score while R. Smith picked up an RBI single to give Radford a comfortable 6-1 lead.

After two 49ers would reach to start the seventh inning, Redmon quickly ended the visitor's scoring threat with two dominant strike outs. The final batter of the game grounded it back to Redmon, who sealed the deal with the throw to first for the 6-1 victory.
