GREENSBORO, N.C. – Go ahead and make it two straight series wins for the Radford baseball program as the Highlanders outslugged UNC Greensboro 11-6 in the rubber match inside UNCG Baseball Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
With the victory, Radford improved to 7-7 on the young season, its best start to a campaign since 2021.
THE BASICS

THE BREAKDOWN
- Eight different Highlanders posted at least one hit and one run and five different student-athletes drove in at least one RBI in the total team win. All eight members of the Radford squad that posted a hit came around to score in the contest.

Breckin Nace had a huge day with a 4-for-5 performance at the dish that included a game-best four RBI, a double, a triple and three runs scored. He set a season and career best in both hits and RBI with the standout showing.

Tyler Sparrer continued his hot weekend with another 3-for-4 outing. His day included three RBI and a run scored.

Jhonkeanu Perez (1-for-5, one steal),
James Ward (2-for-3, one run, one stolen base) and
Corbin Grantham (2-for-5, two runs scored, one swiped bag) all drove in a run for the Highlanders, respectively.

Hunter Keen (1-for-1), Zack Paczewski (1-for-3) and
Eli Hudgins (1-for-3) also came around to score in the victory.
- To go with his day at the plate, Nace also picked up his first win of the season on the mound with 2.2 innings out of the pen.

Matthew Lefevers and
Ben Keefe shut things down with a scoreless frame apiece. The duo both struck out two batters in their appearance.
- Radford batters were hit by pitches five different times in the contest.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The game went back and forth through the first five innings.
- UNC Greensboro got on the board first with a run in the bottom of the first to take an early 1-0 lead.
- Radford responded back with two runs in the top of the third to jump ahead 2-1.
- The Spartans answered right back however with two runs of their own in the bottom half of the frame to retake a 3-2 advantage.
- The Highlanders started to pull away with a three-run fourth and two-run fifth to go ahead once again at 7-3.
- UNCG tried to respond with a run in the bottom of the fifth, but Radford dropped another two runs in the top of the six to make it a 9-4 game.
- The Spartans were able to push another two runs across in the bottom of the seventh, but once again the Highlanders had a two-run answer in the top of the eighth to stop any comeback attempt and seal the 11-6 win.
