PLAY BY PLAY
The Highlanders offense has grown a habit over the last couple weeks when it comes to striking in the first inning and Tuesday night's contest was no different. Back in the lineup, Amanda Lee singled and promptly stole second. With two outs, Cassi Barbato laced her first RBI of the game to right field to score Lee for the 1-0 lead.

Morgan Cooper would enter the circle for the start working a clean bottom of the first. The Camels would strike with two outs in the bottom of the second to tie the game at 1-1, where the score would stand for the next six innings.

Emily Smith led off the third with a single, moving to second on a wild pitch but was caught in a fielder's choice to end the scoring threat. Cooper would work another clean frame in the bottom half of the inning. Another baserunning miscue would cost the Highlanders in the fourth wiping out back-to-back hits by Kelley Feigen and Klara Van Beuge.

In the bottom of the fourth, Cooper used a double play and held a runner at third with two outs to preserve the tie. In the fifth, Campbell put runners on second and third with one out but Cooper was able to dance through trouble to retire the next two batters without allowing a run.

Reigning Big South Pitcher of the Week Dakota Redmon entered in the sixth and worked around a pair of runners to keep the score at 1-1 going into the seventh. The Highlanders were retired in order during their half of the inning, but Redmon worked a flawless defensive half of the seventh to send the game to extras.

In the eighth, Radford's offense caught fire. Lee led things off with an infield single while a throwing error allowed Rachel Smith too reach and push Lee to third. Barbato would come up big again for Radford with an RBI single to left.

Radford didn't stop there as Isabel Harrison drew a walk to load the bases and Feigen singled to push the lead to 3-1. Van Beuge followed Feigen striking the ball well for a sacrifice fly for another run. E. Smith would send two more runs home with a single that gave Radford more than enough space with a 6-1 advantage. In the home half of the eighth, the Highlanders took care of business quickly for three straight outs to seal the 6-1 victory.
