Bailey sets the school record in the mile as Track & Field shows out at App State Open

BOONE, N.C. – The weekend belonged to Sienna Bailey as the freshman sensation dropped a school record in the mile as the Radford track & field program showed out at the 2025 App State Open across Friday and Saturday.

Despite having a small group with just eight competing student-athletes, the Highlanders still posted one school record and six personal bests in yet another standout showing for the program.

NOTABLES
- Sienna Bailey had herself a Saturday with a win in both the mile and the 5,000-meter race. The standout freshman set a school record with her performance in the mile as she ran to a personal best with a 4:58.87 performance. She also claimed the top spot in the 5000 with a 17:56.64 showing.
- Mia Farley took to the track on Friday's opening night and posted a second-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. She blazed the track in 11:49.23, good for a personal best and the fifth-best time ran in the Big South so far during outdoors.
- Megan Cash and Farley made it three personal bests in total for the Highlanders in the mile with a sixth and eighth place showing, respectively.
- Claire Keefe just missed out on a personal record with a strong seventh-place finish in the 800-meter race.
- On the men's side of things, both Charlie Dance and Azrael Cabusao also posted personal records in the mile with their seventh and 10th place finishes.

Radford gets right back to it with the running of the 2025 Virginia High Performance on Sunday, April 27. The one-day meet will be run at Lannigan Field in Charlottesville, Virginia on the campus of the University of Virginia.
