Track & Field continues strong showing at Big South Outdoor Championship; will have 15 student-athletes and two relay teams on Championship Wednesday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The Radford women's track & field program continued its stellar start to the 2025 Big South Outdoor Championships as the squad saw another two podium finishes, three all-time best mark and countless personal and seasons bests on day two of the competition at Karl Straus Track on Tuesday.

THE BASICS
RESULTS:Â Sixth Overall (29 Points: 7-of-21 Events Scored)

NOTABLES
- Mia Farley was the second Highlander to take to the podium stand so far this championship with a second-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase final. She raced the track in 11:14.30 overall to set a personal best by over 20 seconds. The performance is also now ranked as the seventh-best showing in the event all-time in school history.
- Jeylah Hamrick blazed the track in 54.89 to win her heat and advance to the final of the 400-meter dash. Her time in the preliminary round placed second overall in the event and she will enter tomorrow's championship race as the No. 2 seed.
- Jaslyne Robinson also punched her ticket to Wednesday's final in the 100-meter hurdles after she dropped a personal best of 14.31 to claim sixth overall. She is now ranked tied for sixth in school history in the event all-time.
- Both Danae Niles and Makayla Nelson are moving on to the final of the 100-meter dash as well after the duo posed standout showings in the prelims. Niles dropped a personal best time to place second in her heat at 12.01. Nelson sits just behind with a qualifying run of 12.24. The two will enter the championship round as the No. 3 (Niles) and No. 8 (Nelson) seeds, respectively. Nile's time was also the fifth-best performance in the event in school history.
- Kandace McIvor continued her stellar showing in the heptathlon final as she finished second in the long jump (season best of 5.30 meters, 17'-4.75") and fourth in both the javelin throw (24.84 meters, 81'-6") and 800-meter race (2:31.96). With her strong performance across Monday and Tuesday, she became the third Highlander to make the podium with a bronze in the event.
- Mattie Flores posted a personal best time of 58.00 to take tenth overall in the 400-meter preliminary round.
- Leah Moye had a busy day with a sixth-place finish in the triple jump (11.10 meters, 36'-5") and a ninth place showing in the 100-meter prelims (14.62).
- Mya Rosser set a season best in the shot put with a best chuck of 11.46 meters (37'-7.25"). The performance was good for 11th overall in the event's final.
- Claire Keefe and Katelyn Lafon finished ninth and 13th in the 800-meter prelims, respectively.

The Highlanders will take to the track across 10 events as 15 individual student-athletes and two relay teams will look to earn a spot on the podium.
