Odell joins the Highlanders bringing with her a wealth of women's basketball experience in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Spending the last three seasons with the Mary Washington coaching staff, Odell helped guide the Eagles to incredible heights. In her first season with the program, she helped guide the team to the NCAA Division III Sweet 16 finishing with a 24-7 record. Odell followed that season up by being a part of the 2023-24 Coast-to-Coast Conference Women's Basketball Coaching Staff of the Year finishing the season with a 16-9 record and conference championship berth.

"I am excited to welcome Alley to our women's basketball staff," commented McGuire. "Alley is an excellent communicator with a great personality and has well rounded collegiate experience at each of her stops that will help to  elevate our program. Alley has extensive recruiting experience and will coordinate our recruiting efforts moving forward. She is also from Richmond, Virginia and that will continue to aid our efforts to recruit in-state talent and beyond. She will also be working with our post players. Alley is going to strengthen our program alignment, and we look forward to her immediate impact."

Prior to her time at Mary Washington, Odell was an assistant coach at Manchester University where she helped produce two HCAC newcomer team members, on second team all-HCAC and one honorable mention all-HCAC two years in a row. In her two seasons with the Spartans, the program had 13 academic all-HCAC accolades as well. Odell's title also included recruiting coordinator and Director of Intramurals. She led the team's recruiting, scouting, social media and arranged travel.

Odell got her coaching start in Virginia as a part of the Bridgewater coaching staff. While at Bridgewater, she assisted in all aspects of the program helping the Eagles boast a 13-5 record in the ODAC that included a 10-game winning streak. Bridgewater would claim the third seed in the ODAC tournament while Odell helped coach the ODAC Co-Defensive Player of the Year.

A native of Richmond, Va., Odell graduated from Deep Run High School and later earned her bachelor's degree in psychology and social work from Concord University. From 2013-17, Odell was a member of the Mountain Lions women's basketball team. She would later finish off her education with a master's degree in human services counseling – marriage and family as well as a sports management master's certificate from Liberty University.
