Radford Track and Field Announces Promotion and New Title for Bradley Going Into 2025-26 Season

RADFORD, Va. – The Radford Track and Field and Cross Country program and Director of Track and Field and Cross Country Shelli Sayers announced Tuesday morning that Sam Bradley has been promoted to Associate Head Track and Field Coach and will continue serving as the Head Cross Country Coach.

"It's an incredible honor and privilege to be provided this opportunity at Radford University," commented Bradley. "The program has progressed in an amazing way over the past 6-7 years, and I feel so fortunate to be involved and a part of that process. I'd like to offer my sincere thanks and gratitude to Shelli Sayers for the belief, trust, and guidance she has provided since 2019. I'd also like to thank Robert Lineburg for continuing to support the men's and women's programs in such a great way in a period of amazing transition this past summer. We are massively excited to see what the men and women within the program can do throughout this year in cross country, indoor and outdoor."

"Sam's dedication to our program and students resulted in a transformation of our distance squad and the T&F/XC teams as a whole," commented Sayers. "We have worked tirelessly together to build a program and mentor student-athletes Radford University, and the athletic department can be proud of. I am proud of Sam and all he has accomplished so far and am excited to promote him to a role with more responsibilities."

In addition to continuing his duties as the head coach of men's and women's cross country, Bradley will add on the responsibilities related to growing the men's track program and continuing to grow the women's track and field team. Bradley will continue to work closer with Sayers in the day-to-day operations with six teams.

Bradley has been serving as the program's head cross country coach and assistant track and field coach for the past eight seasons. Over that time, Bradley has been named the Big South Coach of the Year twice and has helped guide one Freshman of the Year, one Runner of the Year, two Scholar-Athletes of the Year and 14 Highlanders to all-conference honors. While working primarily with the distance runners on the women's track and field program, he has guided seven individual champions and 12 all-conference winners across the indoor and outdoor seasons.

Radford's women's cross country program has seen marked success on Bradley, competing atop the Big South championships each season. Radford has placed top 5 at the conference championships in six of his seven complete seasons including two runner-up finishes. On the men's side, Radford has seen similar success placing in the top-half of the conference every season under his tenure. The men's program finished third in 2021, which tied the program's best finish over the last 25 seasons.
