Highlanders Selected to Host Morehead State in WNIT on Friday

RADFORD, Va. – For the first time since jumping to the NCAA Division I level in 1984, there will be a postseason basketball game in the Dedmon Center. After finishing second place in the Big South during the regular season to secure the auto bid to the WNIT, the Radford Highlanders women's basketball team will host Morehead State on Friday, March 20 at 7:00 p.m.

"Our program is excited to compete in the WNIT," Head Coach Mike McGuire said after bracket release. "We understand that playing in March is a privilege but one we believe this team has earned. We cannot thank our institution and administration enough for allowing us to host a first-round contest in the Dedmon Center. This is a great opportunity for Radford and let's work together to make this a home game advantage for our ladies."

Tickets go on sale today at 5:00 p.m. and start at $10 for adults $5 for youth 12 and younger. Reserved seating is $15 for adults and $10 for youth 12 and under. Courtside seats are $35 and subject to availability. Tickets are on sale HERE.

Women's basketball is making their first postseason appearance since playing in the NCAA Tournament in 2019. Their 22 wins are the seventh-most in program history. It's been a record-breaking season for McGuire, who became the first basketball coach to 200 wins in Radford history back in December. This is the 11^th postseason appearance for women's basketball in program history and their seventh WNIT bid.
