Stott, Peterson, and McCarthy Take Home Big South Postseason Honors

FRIPP ISLAND, S.C. – Following the conclusion of the 2026 Big South Championship, Radford Men's Golf has earned three postseason awards for their efforts in the 2025-26 campaign including Louie Stott (Honorable Mention All-Conference), CJ Peterson (All-Freshman) and Kieran McCarthy (All-Academic Team)
Stott was the lead golfer for the Highlanders this season as a senior. He placed as the team's top finisher across four different tournaments. Stott's best round of golf came at the Carolina Cup where he played a 67 with five birdies across the round and added an eagle on the 5th hole as well.

Peterson joined the Highlanders this season and immediately made his impact felt on the team and the Big South. At the Carolina Cup, Peterson finished in 6th place out of all 55 golfers with a score of four-over, which would earn him his first Freshman of the week award. Later in the season at the ODU/Kilmarlic Intercollegiate, Peterson would find more success tied in 25th place earning him his second freshman of the week award. Â
McCarthy had a great year in his second season as a Highlander. He started the season on fire with two top three finishes including a showing at the 2025 Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational where he led the Highlanders finishing second overall. In the very next tournament, the senior would place third overall at the Carolina Cup. McCarthy added two Golfer of the week awards this season. He has been just as good on the green as off with a strong academic record. The senior is majoring is Sport Management where he currently has a 4.0 GPA. McCarthy also works as a SAAC representative and is currently interning with Athletics Compliance and SASS.
