Women’s Lacrosse Falls to High Point

HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Radford Highlanders women's lacrosse team dropped a Big South contest to the High Point Panthers on Wednesday night, falling 19-2 at Vert Stadium.
KEY STATS
High Point took control early, scoring on their second possession to go ahead 1-0. LaManna made a good save after the Panthers won the draw control, but a forced turnover led to High Point's second goal. Wisniewski was rewarded with a goal after forcing a turnover to get Radford on the board halfway through the first quarter. The Panthers would score three more times to go ahead 5-1 after one.
The Highlander defense held tough in the second quarter, trying to keep the deficit under control. The Panthers scored three quick goals to extend the lead to seven just five minutes into the second. That's when LaManna made three key saves to keep High Point from getting a running clock early on. Radford's offense did not get much going until late in the quarter, as Dundee scored her second goal of the season with 1:34 left before half. High Point made it a 9-2 game right before the break.
High Point stepped on the gas to put things away early in the second half, going up by double digits. The Panthers outscored Radford 7-0 in the third and 3-0 in the fourth quarter to pull away for the win.
