2023-24 AS A SOPHOMORE
CROSS COUNTRY- Competed in all five meets... Set a new 6K PR at the 2023 Southeast Region Cross Country Championships.
INDOOR- Competed in six meets... Earned a podium finish at the Brant Tolsma Invitational to set a personal best in the 1000-meters and puts her second in the record book... A member of the distance medley relay team that came first at the Big South Championships and set a new school record... Holds ninth in the all-time book in the 3000-meters.
OUTDOOR- Competed in seven meets... Had a podium finish the UNC- Asheville Bulldog Invitational for a personal record in the 800-meter dash... Earned another podium finish in at the APP State Invite in the 3000-meter steeplechase... Makes record book appearances in the 1500-meter and 3000-meter steeplechase.
2022-23 AS A FRESHMAN
CROSS COUNTRY- Competed in six meets... Earned a pair of top-ten finishes on the season with a sixth-place finish at the Lancer Invite and a ninth-place finish at the Roanoke Invitational.
INDOOR- Competed four times... Scored five times and finished on the podium twice... Was a member of the winning distance medley relay team at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational... Posted a personal record in the mile at the Big South Championships en route to a fifth-place finish.
OUTDOOR- Competed in five meets... Scored three times and finished on the podium once... Came across the line third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the JMU Invitational.
PREP
Attended Madison County High School in Madison, Va. Under the leadership of head coach Allan McLearen, she was a key contributor to the Mountaineers for both track and cross country. She holds a pair of school records: a 400-meter time of 1:00.8 and an 800-meter time of 2:24.06. She won two district titles and two region titles in cross country to accompany a state championship for the 3,200-meter event in track. McLearen also earned numerous all-district, all-region and all-state honors.
McLearen was also a member of the Mountaineers’ basketball and soccer teams. She was named to the all-district and all-region teams for both sports during her junior and senior seasons.
PERSONAL
Daughter of Cathy and Sam McLearen…has three brothers, Zach, Seth and Jacob and one sister, Leah.
