Aya Ieki





Aya Ieki joined Radford’s athletic training staff in October of 2010. Ieki serves as the primary athletic trainer for the women's basketball and men's and women's tennis programs.

Ieki came to the New River Valley after a two-year graduate assistantship at Georgia State University.

During her time in Atlanta, she covered the Panthers’ women’s soccer, volleyball and track and field / cross country programs, while assisting with the men’s and women’s tennis and cheerleading squads.

Prior to earning her M.S. in sports medicine from GSU (‘10), she graduated from Slippery Rock University (Pa.) in December of 2007 with a B.S. in athletic training.

While with the SRU athletic training program, Ieki worked with the volleyball, women’s basketball, wrestling and football (spring) teams. She also spent time at Neshannock High School, during the fall of 2006 with the football, boys’ and girls’ soccer and volleyball squads.

A native of Urayasu, Chiba, Japan, Ieki graduated with a Bachelor of Education (sports science concentration) from Chiba University in 2003.
