Katherine Moreno enters her second year as an Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Radford University sports medicine staff. She works as the athletic trainer for Highlander women’s basketball, volleyball, and men’s and women’s tennis teams; and also serves as the Student Liaison for the Radford Athletic Training Education Program.
Prior to her time at Radford, Katherine served as an athletic trainer for Azalea Orthopedics and St. Andrew's Episcopal.
Prior to working for Azalea Orthopedics, Moreno earned her Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training from Texas Lutheran University in May 2016 and is currently pursuing a master's degree in Rehabilitation Sciences from California University of Pennsylvania.
In addition to working clinically, Katherine has presented at Regional Sports Medicine Conferences and has used these opportunities to spread awareness of evidence based practice concepts within clinical athletic training settings, and continues to seek opportunities to add to current literature within the profession.
She has also served as a Southwest Athletic Training Association Senator from 2014-2016 and Southwest Athletic Training Association Applications Committee Chair of the Senate from 2015-2016.
She holds certifications from BOC, the state of Virginia and Texas, the American Red Cross, and is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.
