INDOOR: Competed in seven meets … Just missed all-conference with a fourth-place finish in the 5,000m at Big South Championships … Also placed 10th in the Mile … Set school record in the Mile at the Doc Hale Invite to place fourth … Set a new PR in the 3,000m at the Hokie Invite to take second place … Also was second place in the Mile at the same meet … Won the 3,000m and distance medley relay at the Tryon Winter Classic.
OUTDOOR: Competed in three meets … Finished fourth in the 1,500m and fifth in the 5,000m at the Big South Championships … Also ran at the Virginia Challenge and the Duke Invite … Transferred to Northwestern University for grad school after the season.
XC: Competed in six meets … Re-broke her own school record twice through the first two meets … Set new PRs in the 4k (Virginia Tech Invite) and 6k (Panorama Farms Invite) … Posted best finish of sixth at the Big South Championship … Finished second at the Lancer Pink Invite, Virginia Tech Invite, and Liberty Challenge … Named Big South Women’s Runner of the Week after her performance at the Virginia Tech Invite.
2024-25 AS A JUNIOR
INDOOR: Competed in five meets … Took a Big South Championship in the distance medley relay with a school-record performance … Also placed fourth at the conference meet in the 3,000m and the Mile … Took the win in the Mile at Virginia Tech Challenge … Also added two second-place finishes in the 3,000m at the VMI Invite and the Mile at the Brant Tolsma Invite.
OUTDOOR: Competed in seven meets … Earned all-conference honors with a second-place finish in the steeplechase and third in the 1,5000m at the Big South Championships … Also placed fifth in the 5,000m … Placed second in the steeplechase twice throughout the season (App State Open and Colonial Relays) … Her performance in the steeplechase at the Colonial Relays was a PR … Also ran her best 5,000m race for a ninth-place finish in the Charlotte 49er Classic.
XC: Ran in three meets … Set a new PR in the 5k at the Covered Bridge Open to place 12th … did not finish the Big South Championship.
2023-24 AS A SOPHOMORE
CROSS COUNTRY- Competed in four meets... Placed in the top-20 in the Virginia Tech Invitational, Covered Bridge Open CC Meet and the 2023 Upstate Invitational. INDOOR- Competed in five meets... Earned four podium finishes... A member of the distance medley relay team that took first at the Big South Championships and set a new school record... Mile performance at Virginia Tech sets her fifth in the all-time record book... In the 3000-meter she holds fifth in the record book. OUTDOOR- Competed in eight meets... Earned spots in the record book for her performances in the 800-meter dash and 3000-meter steeplechase... Held two podium finishes at the Big South Championships in 1500-meters and 3000-meter steeplechase.
2022-23 AS A FRESHMAN
CROSS COUNTRY- Competed in three meets... Won the Lancer Invite... Finished fourth at the Roanoke Invitational. INDOOR- Competed four times... Scored on four occasions and tallied three different podium finishes... Was a member of the winning distance medley relay team at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational... Finished second in the mile at the Big South Championships. OUTDOOR- Competed in five meets... Scored six times and earned one podium finish... Tallied a personal of personal records and top-five finishes in the 1,500-meter race and 800-meter race at the JMU Invitational.
PREP
Attended Bishop’s Stortford College in Bishop’s Stortford, England. Under head coach Nick Prows, she succeeded enough to find success at Nation Cross Country, English Schools Cross Country and English Track Nationals.
Magson was a multi-sport athlete before coming to the United States. She also has experience playing hockey, rugby and tennis as well as swimming.

Daughter of Nicola and Ian Magson… has two siblings, Amber and Georgie.
