Courtney Davidson

Courtney Davidson was hired as an assistant coach for Radford women's basketball in July 2015.

Davidson, who brings a winning pedigree to the Highlanders, will coordinate community service and camps for the women's basketball program, while overseeing the point guards. In addition, Davidson will assist in recruiting, scouting and academics.

Prior to accepting her first assistant coach position at the collegiate level, Davidson was the director of women's basketball operations at the College of Charleston for the 2014-15 season and at Youngstown State for the 2013-14 season.

Before Youngstown State, Davidson spent two years as head coach at her alma mater, Ursuline High School, in Youngstown, Ohio. Davidson led Ursuline to the Division III district finals her first year as head coach in 2012. The Irish also advanced to the district finals in each of her three seasons as an assistant coach from 2008-11.

Outside of basketball, Davidson worked at Eastern Gateway Community College as an academic and educational advisor during the 2012-13 academic year.

Davidson was a three-year standout for Michigan State during a four-year stretch of national prominence for the program. The Spartans were the national runners-up her freshman year, advanced to the Elite Eight her sophomore year and appeared in the Sweet 16 her junior year, before making it all the way to the finals of the WNIT during her senior season in 2008. Davidson was the recipient of Michigan State's Sixth Woman of the Year award as both a sophomore and junior.

As a player at Ursuline, Davidson was ranked as the No. 43 player in the country by the All-Star Girls Report in 2004. A three-time first-team all-state selection, Davidson finished her prep career with 2,076 career points – that total ranks 28th all-time in Ohio girls' basketball history.

Davidson graduated in 2008 from Michigan State with a bachelor's degree in organizational communication. She earned her master's degree in school counseling from Youngstown State in 2011.
