Men's Basketball Hosts Shenandoah Saturday Night

RADFORD, Va. - Returning from a brief holiday hiatus, Radford entertains Shenandoah in a non-conference men's basketball matchup Saturday night at 7 p.m. inside Peters Hall.

HIGHLANDER HITS

- Radford enters Saturday's contest with a 3-8 overall record, while Shenandoah sits at 3-6.

- On Tuesday night, Alex Ruoff led West Virginia with a career-high 38 points and broke the school's single-game record for three-point field goals with nine, leading the Mountaineers to an 89-54 win over the Highlanders. Artsiom Parakhouski (Minsk, Belarus), scored Radford's first nine points of the second half, cut the deficit to 11 (37-26), 37 seconds in, and finished with 13 points. Martell McDuffy (Laurel, Md./DeMatha) and Amir Johnson (Pittsburgh, Pa./Quaker Valley) led the Highlanders with 14 points each. 

- Four of Radford's starting five are averaging double-figure points, led by Parakhouski's 14.1 per outing. 

- Johnson leads the Big South Conference with his 5.5 assists per game and is fifth all-time at Radford with 326 career helpers.

- The Highlanders are in search of their fourth home victory in seven tries, with home wins this season against Winthrop, Brevard and Bridgewater (Va.).

- Radford's all-time record at Peters Hall is 72-21 (.774) in eight seasons of play.

- Shenandoah is 3-3 in its last six games, since dropping three in a row to start the season. The Hornets picked up a 78-75 win at then-Division I newcomer Houston Baptist in November of 2007. 

- Radford's final non-conference game is Tuesday (Dec. 30) at Wake Forest, the first meeting between the two teams since Dec. 18, 2000.
