Men's Basketball Set to Battle No. 6 Wake Forest Tuesday Evening

RADFORD, Va. -- Radford will conclude its challenging 2008-09 non-conference schedule with a 7 p.m. contest against No. 6 Wake Forest Tuesday evening in Winston-Salem, N.C.

HIGHLANDER HITS
- Radford enters tonight's contest 4-8 overall following a 104-66 victory over Shenandoah Saturday evening. Artsiom Parakhouski (Minsk, Belarus), who leads the Highlanders in scoring and rebounding, paced five Radford players in double figures with 18 points. The 6-11 center also pulled down 13 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the season.

- Tonight's contest marks the second straight season the Highlanders have taken on a team ranked in the Top 10 nationally. Last season, Radford played at then-ranked No. 4 Georgetown. 

- Radford is still in search of its first win over an Atlantic Coast Conference opponent. The Highlanders are 0-14 all-time against the ACC. Earlier this season, Radford battled Virginia down to the wire, before falling 68-66 in Charlottesville.

- Nationally-ranked Wake Forest comes in with a perfect 11-0 mark following a 95-54 rout of East Carolina on Dec. 22 at Minges Coliseum in Greenville. Wake Forest held a slim 41-37 margin at halftime, but outscored the Pirates, 54-17, in the second half. The Deacons did not commit a single turnover and held East Carolina to just 4-of-30 shooting in the second period.

- Wake has started a season 11-0 for the fifth time in the modern era. The Deacons made the NCAA Tournament in each of the previous four seasons they have started at least 11-0.

- Radford will play its first of 16 straight Big South contest to conclude the regular season, Saturday evening at Presbyterian in Clinton, S.C.
