RADFORD, Va. -- Radford shined in its return to the Dedmon Center and looks to make it three straight wins when it hosts Charleston Southern, Monday evening at 7 pm. Tonight marks the 1,000th game in program history. Radford began play in 1971-72 and has recorded a 581-418 mark in 38 seasons.

The Highlanders stepped up the second half defense and defeated Coastal Carolina, 65-56, Saturday afternoon in the newly refurbished Dedmon Center. Sophomore

Kymesha Alston (Hampton, Va./Manhattan) added 19 points and nine rebounds as Radford won its first back-to-back games of the season.
Charleston Southern, playing its fifth straight road contest, comes into tonight's contest after dropping a 76-51 decision to Liberty on Saturday afternoon at the Vines Center. Pam Tolbert led CSU with 12 points with Katie Tull, sister of former Highlander
Kelli Tull (1996-00) chipping in with nine points. The Buccaneers visit the Dedmon Center trying to snap a three-game slide.
This will be the 52nd meeting between the schools. Radford, who has won nine of the last 11 contests, holds a 38-13 lead in the all-time series and is 22-2 against Charleston Southern in the Dedmon Center. Last season each team won on their home courts with the Highlanders defeating the Lady Buccaneers, 91-59 on Feb. 16, 2008.
