ATLANTA, Ga. – After a week away from the courts, Radford cruised to a 7-0 victory over Georgia State in men's tennis action at the Sharon E. Lester Tennis Center Saturday afternoon. The win moves the nationally-ranked Highlanders to 3-1 on the young campaign, while GSU falls to 0-4.

For the third time in four matches, Radford put the first mark on the board by winning the doubles point.

Four of the six singles matches were decided in straight sets.

In the top singles tilt, three-time Big South Player of the Year Martin Sayer (Hong Kong / Sagemont Virtual School) rallied from a set down to defeat No. 95 Nejc Podkrajsek, 6-7 (4), 6-3, 10-6 to secure the shutout for Radford.

After playing his first three matches of the season as the fourth seed for the Highlanders, Mehdi Benhammou (Rabat, Morocco / Descartes) held off Jackson Moore, 6-2, 3-6, 10-6.

“I am very pleased with the end result, commented Radford head coach Mike Anderson. “Playing a team of this caliber on their courts is very difficult and our team played very well, coming up with the hard fought victory. Now we need to rest up for the tough match tomorrow at Davidson's indoor courts.”

Radford returns to the courts tomorrow afternoon in a 1 p.m. match at Davidson.
