RADFORD, Va. – Lisa Shelley recorded 20 kills on 41 attempts (.390) to lead Presbyterian to a 3-1 (25-16, 23-25, 25-18, 25-14) victory over Radford in Big South volleyball action Friday evening at the Dedmon Center.
The loss drops the Highlanders to 11-13 overall and 1-7 in league play, while PC improves to 8-14 and 3-5.
Despite the loss, 
Carly Fleming (Manassas, Va. / Osbourn Park) paced Radford with 10 kills (.381) and a pair of blocks. Senior libero 
Lauren Clary (Roanoke, Va. / Cave Spring) led the way defensively with 15 digs, while freshman 
Desiree Aramburu (Chicago, Ill./Mother McAuley) finished with a 34 assists, nine digs and two service aces for the Highlanders.
Amanda Kettles joined Shelley in double figures for Presbyterian contributing 12 kills on 20 swings (.500). Kilee Ruppe set up 40 of her club's 49 kills, while three Blue Hose picked up at least 10 digs, including a match-high 17 from Elizabeth Heineman.
As a team, Presbyterian outhit Radford .316 to .110 and held a slim 4-2 edge in total blocks. 
Presbyterian found the floor with almost 50 percent of its attempts in the opener and used a lengthy run midway through the frame to take game one, 25-16.
Trailing 22-20 in the second, Radford closed on a 5-1 spurt capped off by Fleming's fifth kill of the stanza to even the match at the break, 1-1. To go along with Fleming's impressive performance in game two, freshman 
Emily Hayes (Barlett, Ill. / Barlett) added four kills.
After the two clubs traded points to find themselves tied 5-5, PC scored 13 of the next 19 points en route to a 25-18 game three triumph.
In the fourth and final game, Presbyterian jumped out to a 12-4 advantage and never relinquished the lead. Radford cut the deficit to five on separate occasions, but was unable to get closer the rest of the way.
The Highlanders will conclude their brief homestand Tuesday when they entertain Big South foe Liberty at 7 p.m.
