FINAL RESULTS
KITTY HAWK, N.C. – Lane Hite (Clarksville, Va. / Bluestone) and
Paul Woodson (Powhatan, Va. / Powhatan) fired rounds of even-par 70 Tuesday afternoon as the Radford men's golf team moved four spots up the leaderboard with a tournament-low 283 (+3) to finish seventh at the 30th Annual ODU/Seascape Collegiate Tournament hosted by Old Dominion.
The 36-hole event was played on the Par 70, 6,131-yard Seascape Country Club layout.
Hite, who opened with an 80 Monday, climbed 24 spots up the individual leaderboard to finish tied for 22nd, one stroke behind fellow Highlander
Weston Eklund (Charlottesville, Va. / Albemarle), who carded a one-over 71 on day two to place tied for 19th at 149 (78-71).
Like, Hite, Eklund and Woodson,
Kyle Bailey (Fincastle,Va. / James River) recorded his lowest 18-hole total of the season to come home tied for 22nd, while freshman
Wade Wawner (Virginia Beach, Va. / Floyd E. Kellam) finished one back with a group in 27th.
Woodson, who entered the final round tied for 62nd, bettered his round one total by 13 strokes to come home tied for 38th.
As a team, the Highlanders matched George Washington for the lowest team score of the 36-hole event. Radford's two-day total of 596 (313-283) was just seven strokes outside the top three.
Old Dominion won the team title by four strokes over George Washington (588), while the Monarchs' Eric Onesi fired a 36-hole total of four-under 136 (69-67) to claim individual medalists.
Radford will conclude its 2009 fall campaign Nov. 2-3 at the Hummingbird Intercollegiate in Cashiers, N.C.
