Radford and VCU will be facing off for the 31st time in a series that dates back to the 1971-72 season. The Highlanders own a slight 16-14 advantage in the series, but the Rams have won the last seven meetings, including the last four in Richmond. Last season VCU defeated Radford, 74-51 on Dec. 19 in Peters Hall.
This will be the first of two trips to Richmond. Nine days from now, the Highlanders will return to the state capital to face Richmond on Dec. 21.

Along with shooting 55.6 percent (30 of 54), No. 11 North Carolina outscored Radford 40-19 in the second half in a 74-48 non-conference women's basketball win on Tuesday evening at the Smith Center.
Cetera DeGraffenreid paced North Carolina with a game-high 15 points, while Waltiea Rolle and Italee Lucas each added 11.

Junior Brooke McElroy (Richmond, Va./Monmouth) led the Highlanders with 13 points, a Radford-best for the Monmouth transfer. The Highlanders forced 26 turnovers against the No. 11 Tar Heels and have forced 21 or more miscues in six of seven games this season. Highlander opponents have coughed it up 23.4 times on average this season.

VCU, who opened the season 3-0, is on a two-game slide after dropping a pair of contests at East Carolina (85-88) and to Richmond (52-66). D'Andra Moss leads the Rams, averaging 19.8 points and 6.6 rebounds per game, shooting 53.5 percent from the floor and 85 percent from the charity stripe.

After a break for finals, Radford returns to action on Friday, Dec. 18 hosting Davidson in its final non-conference home game of the season. The game will tip at 7 p.m.
