RADFORD, Va. -- Radford is in the midst of a six-game road swing when it hits the court on Monday evening at 7 p.m. to take on Richmond. This is due in part to the Highlanders' last home contest vs. Davidson being cancelled due to the snowstorm that hit Radford. Both teams are coming off long layoffs having played their last game on Dec. 12.

This will be the 13th matchup in the series, but the first since the 1998-99 season. Radford holds a slim 7-5 advantage, but Richmond has won the last two contests. The last head-to-head battle was taken by the Spiders, 90-72 in the Dedmon Center on Dec. 19, 1998. Richmond earned a 110-82 victory over Radford on Dec. 20, 1997 in the last meeting in the state capital.
The Highlanders' last game, a home contest against Davidson on Dec. 18, was canceled due to a snowstorm that eventually dropped 15 inches on Radford. The most snow in the area since 1993.
Richmond is coming off a 78-63 loss at home to Georgetown on Dec. 12. The defeat snapped a three-game winning streak. Brittani Shells leads the Spiders averaging 16.2 points and 5.0 rebounds per game.She aslo has recorded a team-best 27 assists and 27 steals.
Radford heads over to Hampton on Dec. 23 to face the Pirate ina 5:30 tilt. Following a short Christmas break, the Highlanders will conclude non-conferenc play on New Year's Eve a Marshall. The teams will tip at noon.
