LAWRENCE, Kan. –
Despite Joey Lynch-Flohr (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax) and Art Parakhouski (Minsk, Belarus) each hitting the 20-point plateau, No. 1 Kansas placed six in double figures on its way to a 99-64 victory over Radford Wednesday evening at Allen Fieldhouse.

Playing a top-10 opponent for the fifth in the last three years, the Highlanders fall to 4-3 on the young season and 0-12 all-time against the A.P. Top 25, while Kansas remains unbeaten improving to 8-0 with its 47th straight home victory.

Lynch-Flohr, a preseason all-conference selection, finished with a career-high 26 points on 9-of-14 shooting in 37 minutes of action. The 6-8 forward also hit 7-of-9 from the charity stripe en route to his 53rd career double figure performance.

Held scoreless in the first 20 minutes of action, Parakhouski, the nation's leading rebounder and 13th ranked scorer, finished with 21 points and 13 rebounds for his 24th career double-double and sixth 20-point effort this year.

“We played hard for 40 minutes and had some bright spots,” said Radford head coach Brad Greenberg. “Joey had a strong offensive game and Art had an exceptional second half.”

After the Highlanders limited Kansas to just 37.5 percent in the first half, the 2008 National Champions drilled 63.2 percent (24-38) of their attempts in the second half, including 6-of-10 from behind the arc. The Jayhawks finished the contest with a .514 clip (36-70).

Preseason All-America selections Cole Aldrich and Sherron Collins led the Jayhawks with 15 points each. Xavier Henry finished with 13, while Elijah Johnson and C.J. Henry added 11 apiece and Thomas Robinson recorded 10 off the bench for KU.

Kansas outscored the Highlanders 23-8 over the final 9:47 of the opening half to head into the locker room with a 36-18 advantage.

The Highlanders were forced to play with just two starters for much of the first half due to foul trouble and senior Phillip Martin (Roanoke, Va./Roanoke Catholic) leaving the game early with a rib injury.

“Losing Phillip in the first few minutes of the game hurt us. We needed to have depth against a team as athletic and deep as Kansas," commented Greenberg.

Along with knocking down his first career three-point attempt, Lynch-Flohr finished with six of Radford's eight field goals in the first half to lead all players at the break with 13 points.

Radford, the first team this season to eclipse the 40-percent mark against the Jayhawks, finished with 16 assists on 22-of-52 (42.3 percent) shooting. Amir Johnson (Pittsburgh, Pa./Quaker Valley) paced the Highlanders with seven dimes.

Kansas, which finished with 46 points in the paint, outrebounded the Highlanders, 44-29, including 17 offensive that led to 20 second chance points.

The Jawhawks, who entered the contest shooting better than 40 percent from deep, hit nine of their 16 tries from behind the arc.

“You have to be solid on the offensive and defensive ends to have a chance to defeat a team like Kansas,” said Greenberg.

Tonight's tilt was the first for the Highlanders against the top-ranked team in the nation.

Radford returns to the Dedmon Center Sunday, Dec. 13 when it hosts Roanoke College at 4 p.m.
