Highlanders Head to Red-Hot Liberty for Monday Evening Matchup

Radford, riding a three-game winning streak, heads to Lynchburg for a matchup with red-hot in-state rival Liberty on Monday evening. The Highlanders are coming off a 76-67 victory over Charleston Southern last Monday, while first place Liberty (13-7, 7-0 Big South) has won 10 straight after cruising to a 65-42 home win against High Point on Saturday.

Game Notes

In their victory over the Lady Buccaneers, the Highlanders (6-12, 5-2 Big South) rallied from a 14-point first half deficit receiving a career-high 28 points from sophomore Taleia Moton (Fort Washington, Md./Suitland) and a double-double by junior Kymesha Alston (15 pts, 12 rebs). The victory propelled Radford into sole possession of third place.

The Lady Flames jumped out to a 33-14 halftime lead and cruised to their win over the Panthers. Rachel Hammond tallied a career-high 25 points as Liberty won the battle from first place with High Point. During their 10-game winning streak, the Lady Flames are allowing just 47.8 points per game.

This will be the 49th meeting between the schools with Liberty holding a slight 25-23 advantage after sweeping all three games in 2007-08. It is the first contest between the in-state rivals since Megan Frazee's buzzer beater lifted the Lady Flames to a 66-65 triumph over the Highlanders in the Big South Championship game.
