RADFORD, Va. — Radford, in conjunction with the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA), will be participating in this year's “WBCA Pink Zone” initiative when it hosts Winthrop Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. The WBCA Pink Zone initiative is a global, unified effort for the WBCA nation of coaches to assist in raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond.
Fans are encouraged to wear pink and kids under 12 get in free.

These teams enter this afternoon's contest tied for third with 5-4 Big South records and are a half game ahead of Coastal Carolina and UNC Asheville.
Returning home after two games on the road, the Highlanders are looking to get back on the winning track after dropping both games at Liberty and Gardner-Webb. In Radford's last contest, sophomore

Kymesha Alston recorded a double-double, but Gardner-Webb was able to hold off a late comeback attempt and pull out a 55-53 victory over the Highlanders on Feb. 7.
Winthrop enters today's tilt on a four-game winning streak after picking up a home non-conference victory over Longwood on Tuesday. The Eagles have won their last three Big South contests and are 3-1 in league road games this season.
In the first matchup of the season, junior
Davida Dodson sparked a late 10-3 run helping Radford come back and defeat Winthrop, 54-50, on Jan. 12 for its first road win of the season. Alston recorded a double-double (13 pts, 12 rbs) and Moton led all scorers with 14 points. Ashley Fann paced the Eagles with 13 points. It also marked Radford's 50th win (50-6) against Winthrop
