Women's Basketball Contest with UNCA Monday Moved to 4:30 PM

RADFORD, Va. -- Radford, which currently sits in third place, looks to carry the momentum of a two-game winning streak into its home contest against UNC Asheville Monday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. in a critical league contest from the Dedmon Center. The Highlanders (8-6) sit a half game behind second place High Point (9-6), while the Bulldogs at 7-7 are a full game behind Radford with two games left in the Big South regular season.

Game Notes

Coming off a 57-35 homecoming victory against Presbyterian on Saturday, the Highlanders have won three of their last four contests keeping their chances alive for a second seed at next weekend's Big South tournament in High Point. Sophomore Taleia Moton (Fort Washington, Md./Suitland) scored a game-high 17 points and Radford's defense held the Blue Hose to 25 percent shooting as it recorded its second straight conference series sweep.

UNC Asheville suffered a 77-41 defeat at Liberty on Saturday evening and have dropped three of its last four games. Ana Baker paced the Bulldogs with 16 points and six steals.

The Bulldogs defeated the Highlanders 52-50 on Baker's last second shot on Jan. 17 in Asheville, snapping a three-game winning streak in the series by Radford. Baker finished with a game-high 17 points. Moton led Radford with 15 points and sophomore Denay Wood (Bailey's Crossroads, Va./Annandale) recorded her first collegiate double-double with 12 points and game-best 13 rebounds. The Highlanders lead the all-time series 38-14 and are 22-3 against the Bulldogs in the Dedmon Center.
