RADFORD, Va. – Battling through windy and cold conditions, No. 57 Radford recorded its third shutout in as many days and extended its home winning streak to 32 with a 6-0 victory over Binghamton Monday afternoon at the RU Tennis Courts.

The win was also the 10th in the last 11 matches for the Highlanders as they improve to 17-3 overall, while Bearcats fall to 11-5.

Due to the threat of unplayable conditions, the two teams elected to begin with singles play and if necessary follow with the doubles portion.

Martin Sayer (Hong Kong/Sagemont Virtual), the 90th ranked singles player in the nation, gave the Highlanders a quick 1-0 advantage with a convincing 6-0, 6-2 win over Sven Vloedgraven at the top spot. The victory was the 11th straight for Sayer as he improved to 18-2 on the year and 112-24 for his career.

Shortly after Sayer's triumph, Igor Ogrizek (Daruvar, Croatia/Birotechnika Grammar) and Zack Watson (Harrisonburg, Va./Eastern Mennonite) put Radford one win away from its 41st victory in the last 45 regular season matches with straight-set wins on courts five and six, respectively.

On court two, Ivan Salec (Oroslavje, Croatia/Oroslavje Secondary) clinched the match for the Highlanders with his 10th win in the last 11 matches.

Mehdi Benhammou (Rabat, Morocco/Descartes) won his fifth straight with a 6-2, 7-5 decision over Arnay Jain and Stefan Bojic (Novi Sad, Serbia) recorded his third straight three-set victory in as many days to secure Radford's seventh shutout of the spring.

Radford will conclude its regular season with a 2:30 p.m. match against James Madison at the RU Tennis Courts Wednesday afternoon.
