RADFORD, Va. – Radford had three players hit double-digit kills and found the floor with almost 30-percent of its attempts over the final three frames to rally past High Point 3-2 (22-25, 22-25, 25-17, 28-26, 15-10) in Big South volleyball action Tuesday at the Dedmon Center.
The victory gives the Highlanders their most wins since the 2001 campaign as they improve to 10-8 overall and 1-2 in league play. High Point drops its fourth straight falling to 9-9 and 0-3.
Radford, which found itself in an early 2-0 deficit after dropping the opening two games by identical 25-22 margins, rebounded with 15 kills and a .379 attack percentage to win game three in convincing fashion (25-17) and force a fourth stanza.
After the Highlanders grabbed a five-point advantage in the fourth, 21-16, High Point responded with a run of its own to even the set, 24-24. Tied for a 13th time in the fourth, 26-26, Radford broke the deadlock and extended the match with a
Mariah Nussbaum (Dayton, Ohio/Chaminade Julienne) kill followed by a Panther error.
In the deciding game, Radford jumped out to a 10-4 lead and never looked back. The Highlanders connected on 10 of their swings in the fifth and found the floor with .304 of their attacks.

Laura Waddell (Lynchburg, Va. / E.C. Glass) and freshman
Emily Hayes (Bartlett, Ill. / Bartlett) led Radford with 11 kills each. Nussbuam also hit the 10-kill plateau for the Highlanders.
Carly Fleming (Manassas, Va. / Osbourn Park) and
Megan McWhorter (Newport News, Va. / Peninsula Catholic) were also impressive for the Highlanders with nine (.467) and eight (.316) kills, respectively.
Desiree Aramburu (Chicago, Ill. / Mother McAuley) ran her double-double total to seven and three straight with a match-high 43 assists and 19 digs. The frosh also recorded seven kills and four service aces on the evening.

Katelyn Meeks (Richmond, Va. / Mills Godwin) and 14 by Waddell.
As a team, Radford outhit the Panthers .183 to .118, but trailed in the total blocks column 9-5.
Megan Smith paced High Point with a match-high 17 kills while Julie Hershkowitz led all players with 24 digs and Holly Fong set up 42 kills.
The 27th all-time meeting between the Radford and the Panthers featured 30 ties and nine lead changes.
Through 18 matches this season, the Highlanders have played six five-game contests, recording a 4-2 record.
Radford will continue its Big South slate with a four-match road swing, beginning with a 7 p.m. tilt at Coastal Carolina Friday evening in Conway, S.C.
