RADFORD, Va. --
Winners of 11 straight conference games away from home, Radford plays the first of three consecutive Big South men's basketball contests on the road beginning Saturday, when the Highlanders travel to High Point for a 7 p.m. tip.

The Highlanders (8-5, 4-0 Big South), which just completed a successful three-game homestand, begin their second-longest road trip of the season at the Millis Center. Radford and High Point will be playing in front of a packed house – High Point, playing its fourth straight at home, announced on Wednesday that the game is sold out.

Winners of the last three series meetings with the Panthers, the Highlanders are off to the program's best start in Big South play since the 1999-2000 campaign, when they won their first six against conference foes. Since joining the league in 1985, Radford has started Big South play 6-0 on three (1990-91, 1991-92, 1999-2000) separate occasions.

In all-time matchups with High Point, Radford is 15-13, including an 82-58 win in the quarterfinals of the Big South tournament last March at the Dedmon Center. Art Parakhouski (Minsk, Belarus) led four double-figure scorers with 24 points on 10-of-14 shooting and Amir Johnson (Pittsburgh, Pa./Quaker Valley) was just an assist away from a triple-double (10 points, 11 rebounds, 9 assists), as the Highlanders cruised into the semifinals with their win over the Panthers.

Conference play restarted last Saturday (Jan. 2) with the Highlanders picking up where they left off, staying perfect in wins over UNC Asheville (Saturday – 82-74) and Gardner-Webb (Monday – 75-45). In Monday's victory, Parakhouski recorded his 10th double-double of the season with 26 points and 14 rebounds to lead Radford, hitting on 10 of his 12 shots to post the 18th 20-point outing of his short career.

Parakhouski, the reigning Big South Player of the Week, is the only player to rank in the top five nationally in both scoring (fifth – 23.8) and rebounding (second – 12.8). The 6-foot-11 senior currently leads the league in scoring, rebounding and field goal percentage (64.2), as he bids to become just the second player in Big South history to lead all three categories.

High Point (7-6, 3-1), under first-year head coach Scott Cherry, has wins in three straight games after Eugene Harris scored 15 points on five 3-pointers to lead the Panthers to a 66-62 win over UNC Asheville on Monday night at the Millis Center.

Harris, the Big South's active leader with 246 career 3-pointers, was 5-for-10 from behind the arc. Nick Barbour added 14 points and Tehran Cox had 10. Cruz Daniels, who has averaged 11 points and 10 rebounds in the past four games, had 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Panthers, who improved to 6-0 at home this season despite committing 24 turnovers against Asheville.

Radford will continue its three-game swing Thursday evening in Conway, S.C., against Coastal Carolina.

BIG SOUTH ROAD WARRIORS
Dating back to Radford's 65-55 victory at Presbyterian Jan. 3, 2009, the Highlanders have reeled off a league record 11 straight Big South road victories. Radford's nine Big South triumphs away from home a year ago also set a new conference standard. Prior to its setback at No. 8/9 Duke (11/21) earlier this season, Radford held the second longest road winning streak in the nation.

BIG SOUTH CONFERENCE SUCCESS
With a 75-45 win against Gardner-Webb on Monday, the Highlanders improved to 4-0 in 2009-10 Big South play and won their 13th regular season conference game over the last 14. Since a home win over Winthrop on Dec. 6, 2008, the Highlanders have won 19 of their last 21 regular season league games and 22 of the last 24, including the 2009 conference tournament at Radford.

Radford's 4-0 start is the first since 1999-2000, when the Highlanders won their second regular season title. On three occasions, Radford has started league play 6-0 (1990-91, 1991-92, 1999-2000), and the Highlanders went 5-0 to begin the inaugural season of play in the Big South in the 1984-85 season.
