RADFORD, Va. – The Radford volleyball team fell to High Point, 3-0, in Big South action Tuesday night at the Dedmon Center.

The loss drops the Highlanders to 7-13, and 1-6 in the conference, while the Panthers improve to 11-10, 6-1.

Freshman Ashley Acklin led Radford with six kills and a season-high .444 hitting percentage, while sophomore Desiree Aramburu put up 23 assists.

As a team, High Point held the Highlanders to a .106 hitting percentage, while finding the floor with 38 kills and a .229 hitting percentage.

Stephanie Wallin tallied seven kills with a .300 hitting percentage, while Maddie Simpson put up 32 assists for the Panthers.

After Radford jumped out to a 9-3 lead in game one, the Panthers responded with a 12-5 run to grab the lead, which they wouldn't relinquish on their way to a 25-20 win.

In game two, High Point picked right where it left off racing out to a 9-4 lead and never looking back.

After falling behind 19-14 in the final game, Radford responded with a 6-1 spurt capped off by a Katelyn Meeks kill to tie things at 20-20. The Panthers answered and closed with a 5-1 run of their own to secure the sweep.

Radford will be back in action Saturday in Conway, S.C. to take on Coastal Carolina Saturday at 2 p.m. High Point travels to Coastal Carolina as well, Friday.
