RADFORD, Va. - The Radford volleyball team fell to Charleston Southern, 3-0 (25-18, 28-26, 25-24), in Big South action on Saturday afternoon at the Dedmon Center.
The loss drops the Highlanders to 8-16 overall and 2-8 in the conference, while the Buccaneers improve to 10-15 and 4-7.
Despite the setback,
Laura Waddell finished with 10 kills and a .308 attack percentage, while freshman
Jesse Miedema had a .350 hitting percentage and seven kills.
Defensively,
Katelyn Meeks paced the Highlanders for the second straight outing with 11 digs. Sophomore
Desiree Aramburu led Radford with 25 assists.
As a team, the Buccaneers found the floor with 50 kills and a .340 hitting percentage, while holding the Highlanders to a .189 hitting percentage (33 kills).
Current Big South Player of the Week, Amanda Hill, led Charleston Southern with 16 kills, 12 digs and a .371 hitting percentage.
CSU's Kayla Klinger also contributed a double-double with 14 kills and 13 digs, while Amy Nokes put up a match-high 38 assists.
Radford will conclude its three-match homestand against Elon on Tuesday at 7 p.m., while CSU will host College of Charleston Tuesday at 7 p.m.
