HIGH POINT, N.C. – Despite a season-high 16 kills (.341) from senior
Laura Waddell, the Radford volleyball team fell to High Point, 3-1 (26-24, 12-25, 20-25, 19-25), in Big South action Tuesday night at the Millis Center.
The loss drops the Highlanders 8-19 and 2-10 in the conference, while the Panthers improve to 15-12, 9-3.
In addition to Waddell,
Megan McWhorter put down 14 kills (.289) and matched a season-high 20 digs as she recorded her seventh double-double of 2010.
Sophomore
Desiree Aramburu charted her 11th double-double on the season with 40 assists and 12 digs, while
Katelyn Meeks surpassed 1,000 career digs by leading the squad with 25, defensively.
As a team, High Point did not have trouble finding the floor with a total of 61 kills with a .248 hitting percentage, while holding Radford to a .144 clip with just 45 kills.
Stephanie Wallin led the Panthers with 16 kills and a .433 hitting percentage, while Maddie Simpson led both setters by putting up 52 assists and 13 digs.
The Highlanders will be back in action traveling to Gardner-Webb Friday at 7 p.m.
