WOMEN’S BASKETBALL FALLS AT PITT, 77-46

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Radford fell to Pittsburgh, 77-46, in non-conference women's basketball action Sunday afternoon at the Peterson Events Center.

Despite the setback, Brooke McElroy and freshman Breshara Gordon paced the Highlanders with 13 points each.

Radford fell behind 11-0 in the first 4:25 of the contest before Gordon broke the ice with a jumper at the 15:04 mark.

The Panthers, who shot 72.5 percent in the first 20 minutes, used another lengthy run (14-0) to extend their lead to 35-7 before taking a 51-15 lead into the break.

Radford outscored Pitt 31-26 in the second half led by McElroy's 11 points. She also recorded two of Radford's six blocks.

Chelsea Cole led the Panthers with a double double consisting of a game-high 19 points and 10 rebounds, followed by Jania Sims with 14 points and three steals.

Radford concludes its three-game road swing on Friday, Nov. 26 when it travels to George Mason for a 7 p.m. contest.
