-- Radford continues its three-game road swing with a 7 p.m. tip at in-state foe George Mason Wednesday evening.
-- The Highlanders enter the 16th all-time meeting 2-1 overall following an 85-56 setback at South Carolina Friday.

Blake Smith (Charlotte, N.C. / United Faith Christian Acad.) led Radford with 14 points off the bench.
Jareal Smith (Savannah, Ga. / Johnson),
Gorkem Sonmez (Istanbul, Turkey) and
Johnathan Edwards (Queens, N.Y. / Tyler Junior College) just missed the 10-point plateau with nine points each.
-- After trailing by as many as 38 in the second half, Radford (2-1) used a 22-8 streak to cut the deficit to 73-49 with 7:03 left, before outscoring the Gamecocks 37-36 in the stanza.
-- To go along with just four second-half turnovers, the Highlanders knocked down 4-of-8 attempts from long range.

Tommy Spagnolo (West Jefferson, N.C. / Ashe County) continues to lead a pair of Highlanders in double figures averaging 12.0 points per game, while shooting .593 from the floor. The red-shirt freshman also paces the club in rebounding at 7.3 per outing.
-- Sonmez is also contributing 10 points a contest.
-- Radford will conclude its first road trip of the season at Charlotte Saturday evening.
Last Meeting
-- In the last meeting, Radford got 34 points (20 second half) and 12 rebounds from Art Parakhouski as the Highlanders shot 53 percent in an 80-53 win over George Mason at the Dedmon Center on Dec. 30, 2009.
-- Laz Trifunovic also contributed a double-double (15 pts, 17 rebs), while
Joey Lynch-Flohr scored 15 for Radford, which went 22-for-28 at the line, despite going 0-for-9 from long range.
-- In addition to their impressive shooting percentage, the Highlanders held George Mason to just 27 percent (.200 second half) from the floor and 21.4 percent (3-14) from behind the 3-point line, while recording eight blocks.
-- Radford also controlled the glass outrebounding the Patriots by a convincing 47-29 margin.
-- Luke Hancock led Mason with 10 points in 20 minutes off the bench.
Scouting the Patriots
-- George Mason enters the contest 2-2 following a 1-2 showing at the 2010 ESPN Charleston Classic.
-- The Patriots opened the 3rd annual event with a 78-56 win over Charlotte before falling to North Carolina State (78-65) in the semifinals and Wofford (82-79 OT) in the consolation game on Sunday evening.
-- George Mason, which returns a majority of its lineup from last year's 17-15 club, is led by Luke Hancock, who paces three players in double figures at 15 points per outing. Ryan Pearson (12.0) and Cam Long (11.3) are also averaging more than 10 points.

-- In addition to its work on the glass, George Mason is committing just 14 turnovers a game.

Radford vs. Colonial Athletic Association
-- Radford, which played four Colonial Athletic Association opponents a year ago and is scheduled to meet three (George Mason, James Madison, UNCW) this season, is 17-35 all-time against the league. The Highlanders went 2-2 a year ago with wins over the Patriots and UNC Wilmington.
