Radford women's basketball will conclude the road portion of its non-conference schedule when it faces off against local foe Virginia Tech at Cassell Coliseum on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. The Highlanders, who are playing theeighth road game in their first 11 contests, are looking to snap a two-game slide after dropping a 87-81 contest at USC Upstate on Saturday night.
The Hokies are coming off a 94-78 double-overtime victory at William & Mary on Saturday and return home where they are 5-1 this season.
In its last contest, Radford scored a season-high 81 points, but it wasn't enough as it fell at USC Upstate, 87-81 on Saturday.
Brooke McElroy recorded a double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds, while Da'Naria Erwin Spencer matched her teammate with 18 points and also dished out a season-high eight assists.
For McElroy, it was her second double-double of the season as she netted a new Radford high in points, while matching a career best from the field, hitting 9-of-11 field goals. Erwin Spencer paces the Highlanders offense, averaging 13.7 ppg and shooting 40 percent (8-20) from long range.
This is the 31st meeting with the Hokies holding a 21-9 advantage. Virginia Tech has won nine of the last 10 matchups.
