RADFORD, Va. --
Coming off a three-game road swing, Radford returns home to host Virginia Commonwealth at 3 p.m. on Dec. 21. The Highlanders, looking to snap a three-game slide, are playing in the Dedmon Center for the just the fourth time this season after being on the road for eight of their first 11 contests.

The Rams are looking to rebound after being edged at home by Liberty, 59-57 on Tuesday night.

On Tuesday, Virginia Tech broke open a tight ball game with an early 16-4 second half run and defeated Radford, 68-54, from Cassell Coliseum. Da'Naria Erwin Spencer led the Highlanders with 14 points, while Brooke McElroy recorded her third double-double of the season with 10 points and a team-best 10 rebounds. She also swatted away three Hokie shots.

McElroy has pulled down 10 or more rebounds the last three contests and is averaging 13 caroms during this span. Erwin Spencer leads the Highlanders in scoring, averaging 13.7 points per contest.

This will be the 32nd meeting between the teams. The series dates back to Radford's first season of basketball (1971-72) with the Highlanders holding a slight 16-15 advantage. VCU has won eight straight and nine of the last 10 contests, including a 70-53 victory on Dec. 12, 2009 in Richmond.

VCU boasts the nation's leading rebounder in Courtney Hurt (13.6 rpg), who is also second in points (25.6 ppg) and double-doubles (nine).

Radford wraps up non-conference play on Dec. 30 in the Dedmon Center when it hosts Richmond at 5 p.m.
