Pregame Notes
-- Radford will conclude its brief conference-opening homestand with a 7 p.m. tip against Gardner-Webb Saturday evening at the Dedmon Center.

-- The Highlanders enter the seventh all-time meeting with the 'Runnin Bulldogs 2-4 overall and 0-1 in the league following a 70-50 setback to UNC Asheville Thursday.

-- Despite the loss, sophomore Gorkem Sonmez (Istanbul, Turkey) led all players with a career-high 17 points, including a 5-for-6 showing from downtown.

-- As a team, Radford made 8-of-15 (.533) from long range, but was just 6-of-36 (.166) from inside the 3-point arc.

-- Sonmez continues to pace the Highlanders in scoring at just over 11 points per game, while Johnathan Edwards (Queens, N.Y./Tyler JUCO) leads the team in rebounding averaging 6.2 per outing.

-- Despite being just a six-game series, Radford hasn't had as much success against Gardner-Webb at home as the 'Runnin Bulldogs have won two of three. However, the Highlanders have never loss to Gardner-Webb on the road, which is why they lead the young series, 4-2.

-- The Highlanders will travel to Charlottesville Tuesday evening for a 7 p.m. contest with Virginia.

Scouting the Bulldogs
-- Gardner-Webb returns just two starters and eight letterwinners from last year's squad that finished 8-21.

-- Chris Holtmann is in his first season as head coach of Gardner-Webb.

-- Coming off a tough loss at High Point Thursday evening, the Runnin' Bulldogs enter 5-4 on the young season, including wins over Charlotte, Western Carolina and Mercer.

-- Senior Jon Moore leads the team in scoring at just over 15.8 points per game, while going to the line almost seven times per contest.

-- Josh Henley, who has come off the bench in each of Gardner-Webb's contests this season, paces the team in rebounding (8.1).

-- Gardner-Webb is in the midst of playing 10 straight contests away from home.

-- As a team, the Bulldogs rank second in the Big South behind Winthrop in field-goal percentage defense. Opponents are shooting just over 40 percent as a team against Gardner-Webb.
