Scouting the Highlanders
-- Radford will conclude its trip to the Palmetto State with a 4:30 p.m. contest at Charleston Southern Sunday afternoon.

-- The Highlanders come into the 62nd all-time meeting 3-10 overall and 0-3 in the Big South following a 77-59 loss at Coastal Carolina Friday.

-- After Radford used an 18-6 run to grab its first lead of the game, 18-15, the Chanticleers closed the first half on a lengthy spurt to take the lead for good.

-- Despite dropping 10 out of their last 11 contests, Blake Smith (Charlotte, N.C. / United Faith Christian Academy) paced three Highlanders in double figures with 12 points, while backcourt mates Evan Faulkner (Sandy Hook, Ky. / Elliott County) and Jareal Smith (Savannah, Ga. / Johnson) added 11 each off the bench.

-- Gorkem Sonmez (Istanbul, Turkey) continues to lead Radford in scoring at 9.7 points per game, while Johnathan Edwards (Queens, N.Y. / Tyler Junior College) (5.6) and Tolga Cerrah (Ankara, Turkey) (5.6) are tied for the team lead in rebounding.

-- The Highlanders have won nine of the last 12 meetings, with all three losses coming on the road.

-- The most successful team in Big South play the last three years, Radford has won 15 of its last 19 league road games.

-- Radford will enjoy a six-day break before beginning a three-game homestand Saturday with league-foe High Point at 7 p.m.

Scouting the Buccaneers
-- Charleston Southern enters 7-7 overall and 1-1 in the Big South following a 77-69 win over High Point Friday afternoon.

-- The Buccaneers return four starters and eight letterwinners from last year's club that went 13-17 overall and 7-11 (7th) in the conference.

-- Charleston Southern is led by preseason all-conference selection Jamarco Warren, who is averaging 15.8 points per outing and shooting just under 85 percent from the charity stripe. Fellow starters Kelvin Martin (11.4) and Sheldon Strickland (10.7) are also scoring better than 10 points a game.

-- In addition to pulling down more than nine rebounds per contest, Martin leads the league in shooting percentage (.649).

-- As a team, Charleston Southern leads the conference in free throw percentage and 3-point field goal percentage defense.

-- The Buccaneers also rank among national leaders in steals per game. Prior to the last contest they were ninth, and are currently averaging 10.8.
