Pregame Notes
-- The Highlanders enter the sixth all-time meeting with their in-state foe 2-5 overall following a 59-52 loss to Gardner-Webb Saturday.
-- Junior Johnathan Edwards (Queens, N.Y./Tyler Junior College) led the way for Radford in its last outing with a season-high 13 points on 6-of-9 shooting, while grabbing nine rebounds.
-- The Highlanders led Gardner-Webb by as many as seven as well as at the half, but were unable to overcome runs at the beginning
and end of the second half by the 'Runnin Bulldogs.
-- Gorkem Sonmez (Istanbul, Turkey) continues to pace the Highlanders in scoring at just under 11 points per game, while Tolga Cerrah (Ankara, Turkey) (6.7) and Edwards (6.6) lead the club in rebounding.
-- The Highlanders return home Saturday for a 7 p.m. contest with James Madison before playing four of their next five on the road beginning with a Dec. 18 meeting with UNC Wilmington.

Scouting the Cavaliers
-- Virginia returns three starters and six letterwinners from last year's club that finished 15-16 overall and 5-11 in the ACC.
-- Under second-year head coach Tony Bennett, the Cavaliers are 16-1 when scoring at least 70 points. They are 4-18 when scoring under 70 points the past two seasons.
-- Virginia leads the all-time series with the Highlanders, 5-0. All five meetings have been played in Charlottesville.
-- The Cavaliers, who just concluded a six-game trip away from home, enter 5-3 following a 57-54 win at rival Virginia Tech in their conference opener Sunday.
-- In addition to its victory over the Hokies, Virginia upset No. 15 Minnesota, 87-79, in Minneapolis on Nov. 29.
-- As a team, Virginia is shooting almost 43 percent from behind the 3-point arc, while committing just 11.5 turnovers per contest.
-- Senior Mike Scott is averaging a double-double (17.1 points / 10.1 rebounds) through eight contests.
-- Joe Harris and Mustapha Farrakhan are also contributing double figures for the Cavaliers, averaging 11.5 and 10.1 points per outing, respectively.
-- Seven of Virginia's 13 players are true freshmen, which is a program record.
