RADFORD, Va. – Devon Brown recorded a double-double and Liberty shot 51 percent to extend its winning streak to nine games with a 63-45 victory over Radford, in Big South Women's Basketball action Monday evening at the Dedmon Center.

Brown finished with a game-high 20 points and 11 rebounds hitting 6-of-12 from the floor and 8-of-9 from the free throw line. Kylee Beecher was a rebound shy of a double-double with 13 points and nine boards. She also tied three other Lady Flames (16-4, 7-1 Big South) with a game-best three steals.
Radford (5-14, 4-4), who had its three-game home winning streak snapped, was led by freshman
Da'Naria Erwin Spencer (Charlotte, N.C./East Mecklenburg) with 10 points, going a perfect 6-for-6 from the charity stripe.
In a sloppy first half that featured 29 turnovers, Liberty shot 57 percent and closed out the final 4:32 with an 11-2 run to take a 30-15 lead into the lockerroom.
Kylie Beecher scored 10 of Liberty's first 17 points as the Lady Flames took a 17-8 lead at 9:43 of the first half.
The Highlanders cut the lead to six on two occasions, the last on a steal and layup by freshman
Ashley Buckhannon (Wytheville, Va./George Wythe) to make it 19-13 at the 4:51mark.
Following Buckhannon's bucket, Avery Warley dropped in an easy two to jumpstart Liberty's decisive half-ending run.
Beecher finished the half with 12 points and six rebounds. Buckhannon paced the Highlanders, who shot 25 percent, with five points.
In the second half, Radford cut the lead to 11 twice in the first six minutes, but each time, Liberty responded with a basket and pushed its advantage to as much as 18 with 7:09 to go in the contest on Dymond Morgan's steal and layup.

Katherine Brockett's (Geelong, Australia/Kardinia International College) long range strike and freshman
Victoria Hamilton's (St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands) three-point play, cut Liberty's lead to ten (53-43) with 3:10 left.
A quick bucket by Brown and free throws from Brown and Rachel McLeod pushed the Lady Flames' lead to 16 and secured the victory.
Buckhannon chipped in with nine points and two steals for the Highlanders. Amber Mays and McLeod contributed 10 and nine points, respectively for the Lady Flames with Mays dishing out a game-high seven assists.
Radford shot 29 percent from the floor and won the turnover battle, (24-23). However, the Highlanders did not take advantage of those miscues (13 points), while their opponents generated 27 points of their mistakes.
Radford continues at home on Saturday, Feb. 6 hosting Gardner-Webb at 3 p.m. as part of the University's Homecoming weekend.
