The Highlanders have also started to heat up from the 3-point line – Radford is shooting 14-for-24 (58.3 percent) over its last two games, including a 5-for-8 afternoon against High Point. In the four contests prior to its game at VMI (Feb. 2), Radford was 24 of 89 from behind the arc (26.9 percent).
Sunday's win put the Highlanders into a tie for second place in the Big South conference standings with Winthrop, two games behind first-place Coastal Carolina (11-2).
Charleston Southern (11-12, 6-7) is 1-4 since its last meeting with Radford, a 70-55 win over the Highlanders on Jan. 16. In the win, Jamarco Warren scored 18 of his game-high 21 points in the second half to lead the Buccaneers to the home win.
Following a back and forth start to the second half, the Buccaneers grabbed control of the contest with a 21-7 run to push their lead to double figures, where it stayed the rest of the way.
Charleston Southern, which shot 53.3 percent (8-for-15) from 3-point range and missed just one of its 17 tries from the free throw line, held the Highlanders to 32.8 percent (21-for-64) from the floor and 5 of 24 from deep.
