RADFORD, Va. --
With first place in the Big South conference standings on the line, Radford welcomes Coastal Carolina to the Dedmon Center for a Saturday night matchup at 7 p.m.

Following Radford's (14-10, 10-4 Big South) 61-58 overtime win over Charleston Southern and Coastal Carolina's (21-5, 11-3) 69-65 loss at High Point on Thursday, the Highlanders are a game behind the Chanticleers in the league standings.

Thanks to a 62-52 Radford victory in the last meeting on Jan. 14, the Highlanders would own the tiebreaker with a win on Saturday. Radford owns a 35-15 series advantage with wins in each of their last three games against Coastal Carolina.

In the last meeting, Art Parakhouski (Minsk, Belarus) scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, and Radford held Coastal Carolina to just 31.7 percent shooting to end the Chanticleers' 12-game winning streak. Coastal finished 19-for-60 from the floor, including a 2-for-16 effort from the 3-point line.

Along with holding Coastal Carolina without a field goal for over eight minutes and to just 27.6 percent shooting (8 of 29) in the first half, the Highlanders closed the first half with an 11-5 run, including seven points from Parakhouski, to head into halftime ahead 26-19 and go on to the win.

Radford extended its three-game winning streak on Thursday behind Joey Lynch-Flohr's (Fairfax, Va. / Fairfax) 24 points, Parakhouski's 20th double-double of the season (15 points, 14 rebounds) and holding Charleston Southern to 39 percent shooting.

Radford's defensive performance was the third straight game the Highlanders have held their opponent to less than 40 percent shooting. When opponents shoot less than 40 percent, the Highlanders are 9-0 this season.

Coastal Carolina dropped just its second road decision in Big South play on Thursday, falling victim to a 15-point first half lead for the Panthers, and a 39 percent shooting performance. Mario Edwards, who led the Chanticleers with 16 points in the last meeting with Radford, scored 14 to pace Coastal Carolina on Thursday.

Entering this week's action, Coastal Carolina was one of three teams in the nation to rank in the top-10 in field goal percentage and field goal percentage defense. The Chanticleers are shooting 49 percent as a team this season, eighth in the nation following Thursday's games, while limiting opponents to 38 percent from the field.
