Parakhouski Earns School-Record Fourth Player of the Week Honor

RADFORD, Va. – For the fourth time this season and seventh in his brief career, Art Parakhouski (Minsk, Belarus) of the Radford men's basketball team has been named the Big South Choice Hotels Player of the Week for games played Feb. 15-21, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.

For the week, Parakhouski averaged 21 points and 13.5 rebounds per contest, while shooting 61.5 percent from the floor.

Ranked nationally in scoring (14th/21.4), field-goal percentage (7th/58.9), rebounding (2nd/13.2), blocks per game (29th/2.3) and double-doubles (1st/22), Parakhouski began his week with 25 points and 13 rebounds, while making nine of his 15 attempts at Liberty Tuesday.

The preseason Big South Player of the Year capped his week with 17 points and 14 more rebounds (five offensive) in Radford's first-ever Bracketbusters appearance, a 76-68 win over UNC Wilmington on Saturday evening.

Parakhouski is the first player in Radford men's basketball history to earn Big South Player of the Week four times in one season.

Winners of five of their last six contests, the Highlanders will continue their three-game homestand Thursday evening against Presbyterian.
