Pregame Notes

-- Radford will conclude its first half of the Big South schedule with a 7 p.m. contest at Presbyterian Saturday evening.

-- The Highlanders enter the young series 4-14 overall and 1-7 in the league following a 74-58 loss at Winthrop on Thursday.

-- Despite the loss, freshman Martins Abele (Saldus, Latvia) recorded his first double-double in a Radford uniform with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while going 7-of-10 from the floor. Prior to Thursday's contest, the 7-1 center hadn't scored more than six points in a game.

-- The Highlander frontcourt has combined for three double-doubles this season, all of which have come from a freshman.

-- Gorkem Sonmez (Istanbul, Turkey), who also hit the 10-point plateau for Radford against the Eagles, continues to lead the club in scoring at 10.2 points per game.

-- The Highlanders are 4-0 against Presbyterian in league play.

-- Dating back to Radford's Dec. 18th contest at UNCW, Blake Smith (Charlotte, N.C. / United Faith Christian Academy) has recorded 28 steals (3.1 spg). The 6-4 guard ranks 20th in the nation in steals per contest averaging 2.4.

-- Radford will play its next three at the Dedmon Center beginning with a 7 p.m. contest against Charleston Southern Thursday.

Scouting the Blue Hose

-- Presbyterian, which has dropped four straight, enters the seventh all-time meeting 8-12 overall and 2-6 in the league following a 64-60 overtime loss to High Point Thursday evening.

-- 16 of Presbyterian's 20 contests have been played away from home.

-- The Blue Hose are without their top-scorer and rebounder Al'Lonzo Coleman for the remainder of the season due to an ankle injury. The red-shirt junior was averaging 14.1 points and 8.1 rebounds a game prior to going down against UNCA.

-- Khalid Mutakabbir (13.4) is also averaging double figures for Presbyterian, while leading the league in 3-point field-goal percentage (.537).

-- In addition to Mutakabbir's production, Pierre Miller ranks fifth in the Big South in assists per game averaging just under four per outing.

-- As a team, Presbyterian has struggled on the defensive end allowing teams to shoot 46 percent from the floor, while forcing just 11 turnovers per game, both of which rank last in the Big South.

-- Despite their defensive woes, the Blue Hose rank near the top of the conference in field-goal percentage (.449) and free-throw percentage (.699).
