PREGAME NOTES
-- Coming off back-to-back tough losses, Radford will continue its three-game homestand with a 6 p.m. televised (MASN) contest against first-place Coastal Carolina on Homecoming Saturday.

-- The Highlanders enter the 53rd meeting 4-16 overall and 1-9 in the Big South following a 70-62 overtime loss to Charleston Southern Thursday.

-- After Radford used a 20-1 run to erase a 14-point deficit and take a five-point lead with under a minute left in regulation, the Buccaneers rallied to force overtime and record just their second win in the last 16 trips to the Dedmon Center.

-- Despite the loss, Blake Smith (Charlotte, N.C. / United Faith Christian Academy) continued his impressive play as the sophomore scored 15 points to go along with five more steals.

-- Selected to the all-freshman team a year ago, Smith leads the league in steals per game averaging 2.6, which is also good enough for 13th in the nation. 36 of his 47 swipes have come in the last 11 contests.

-- In addition to a season-high 15 steals in their last outing, the Highlanders also got double-figure points from Tolga Cerrah (Ankara, Turkey) and Jeremy Robinson (Baltimore, Md. / Tallahassee C.C.).

-- Gorkem Sonmez (Istanbul, Turkey) leads Radford in scoring, contributing just under 10 points a game, while Johnathan Edwards (Queens, N.Y. / Tyler Junior College) and Cerrah are averaging better than five rebounds.

-- Following Tuesday night's game with Winthrop, the Highlanders will play six of their remaining seven regular season contests on the road.

SCOUTING THE CHANTICLEERS
-- Coastal Carolina, which is receiving votes in this week's Top-25 and currently sits eighth in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Poll, enters 19-2 overall and a perfect 10-0 in league play following an 82-58 win at High Point Thursday.

-- The Chanticleers are led by reigning Big South Player of the Week Desmond Halloway, who leads the league in scoring at 19.1 points per game, while shooting 53.1 percent from the floor.

-- Chad Gray is also averaging double figures for Coastal Carolina, contributing 13.2 points per outing. The preseason all-conference selection also currently leads the club in rebounding (6.4 rpg).

-- Gray's frontcourt mate and former South Carolina teammate, Mike Holmes, was dismissed from the team earlier this month. Prior to his dismissal, Holmes was averaging 14 points and 8.4 rebounds.

-- Winners of 17 straight, the Chanticleers defeated the Highlanders 77-59 earlier this season in Conway, S.C.

-- As a team, Coastal Carolina ranks near or at the top of the Big South in scoring offense (2nd / 79.0), scoring defense (1st / 63.0), scoring margin (1st / +16.0), field-goal percentage (1st / .494), field-goal percentage defense (1st / .397), rebounding offense (3rd / 39.3), rebounding defense (2nd / 32.1), rebounding margin (2nd / +7.2), blocked shots (2nd / 4.6), assists (1st / 16.3), turnover margin (2nd / +2.80) and assist / turnover margin (1st / 1.3).
