RADFORD, Va. --
Off to its best league start in 13 seasons and riding a three-game winning streak, Radford women's hoops welcomes Coastal Carolina Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. on Homecoming weekend.

Game Notes

The Highlanders (9-11, 6-1 Big South) enter Saturday's contest owning a half-game lead in the win column over Liberty and Gardner-Webb, whose lone losses have come against Radford.

The Chanticleers (6-12, 0-6) have struggled during the first half of league play and come into the contest still searching for their first Big South win of the season. They came up just short at Liberty, 58-54, on Monday.

At halftime, Radford all-time great Stephanie Howard (1985-89) will be honored with the official unveiling of her retired #10 jersey. She was the first Highlander student-athlete to have a number retired.

A four-time All-American, Howard is Radford's all-time leading scorer (2,146) and just one of two players to score over 2,000 points in school history (both women).

In Radford's last contest, three players scored in double figures as it upended Charleston Southern, 60-56 to remain in first place. Along with the offensive help, the Highlander defense held Big South leading scorer Katie Tull to nine points and forced 22 CSU turnovers that led to 29 points.

Da'Naria Erwin Spencer led all scorers with 18 points, 16 coming in the first half, on 9-of-12 shooting. Victoria Hamilton added a season-high 14 points, 12 in the second half, with six rebounds, while Ashley Buckhannon chipped in with 12 points off the bench.

Radford closes out its four-game homestand next Saturday, Feb. 5 when it host UNC Asheville at 3 p.m.
