WADE FIRES TWO-UNDER 142 ON DAY ONE OF DONALD ROSS INTERCOLLEGIATE


DAY ONE RESULTS
 
BOONE, N.C. After a month off from tournament play, Radford men's golf got back on the links and junior Michael Wade (Floyd, Va./Floyd) fired a two-under 142 in leading the Highlanders to a seventh-place standing after day one of the Donald Ross Intercollegiate on Monday.
 
The 54-hole event is being played on the par-70, 6,540-yard course at Morganton's Mimosa Hill Golf and Country Club and features a 12-team field. 
 
For the second consecutive tournament, Wade recorded a 69 (-3) in the second round and is currently tied for eighth out of 64 players.  He finished with a two-round total of 142 (-2).
 
As a team, the Highlanders (292-297, 589) remain in contention and are 12 strokes back of second place. 
 
Redshirt-junior Weston Eklund (Charlottesville, Va./Ablemarle) is tied for 18th overall and finished the day with a one-over 145 by way of a 70 (-2) in the opening round.
 
Paul Woodson (Powhatan, Va./Powhatan) is tied for 34th at seven-over 151 and freshman Tanner Carbaugh (Eggleston, Va./Giles), who is making his collegiate debut, shot a 153.
 
The final 18 holes will begin Tuesday morning.
