FINAL RESULTS
POWELLS POINT, N.C. – For the third consecutive tournament, senior
Michael Wade (Floyd, Va./Floyd) of the Radford men's golf team finished within the Top-10 by way of his one-under 71 in the final round of the Outer Banks Intercollegiate on Thursday.
Wade (69-76-71, 216) recorded five birdies and wrapped up the tournament by dropping three on the last four holes. He finished with 13 total over the three-day span.
As a team, Radford (292-293-297, 882) shot an 18-over to finish seventh for the third consecutive tournament. The Highlanders were just seven strokes out of fifth.
Paul Woodson (Powhatan, Va./Powhatan) trailed his classmate by one stroke to finish tied for 15th in the 90-player field with a 217 (+1).
Redshirt-junior
Weston Eklund (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) carded a second even-par round to finish at 220 (+4) and tied for 26th overall.
Also competing for the Highlanders were freshman
Tanner Carbaugh (Eggleston, Va./Giles) and
Wade Wawner (Virginia Beach, Va./Floyd E. Kellum), who shot 236 and 238, respectively.
The event was held on a par-72, 6,535-yard layout at Kilmarlic Golf Course and featured 18 teams.
Radford will wrap up its fall slate Oct. 31-Nov. 1 at the Hummingbird Intercollegiate in Cashiers, N.C.
